Teacup and Toy Dogs

Toy dogs make ideal apartment pets and lap dogs. Traditionally bred as lap dogs for royalty and the nobility, toy dogs are as diverse as they are fancy. Toy dogs range range in size from the tiny tea cup dogs to the small Italian Greyhounds. Many toy dogs make up for their small size with a very protective attitude. Wo betide the man who tries to pat a Chihuahua that doesn't know him.

Breeds of Toy Dogs include the Affenpinscher, Brussels Griffon, Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Chihuahua, Havanese, Italian Greyhound, Maltese, Mexican Hairless, Pekingese, Pomeranian, Pug, Shih Tzu, Silky Terrier and the Toy Fox Terrier just to name a few.

Teacup Dogs

There is a sub-group called "tea cup dogs", so named because they are small enough to fit into tea cups. They're just miniture versions of normal toy dogs.
